According to National Fire Protection Association, nearly a thousand home fires are caused by Halloween decorations. However, don’t get too spooked, a fire started by a Halloween candle will be covered. But, it is safest to use a glow stick or battery operated candle in a jack-o-lantern.

5. Provide children with flashlights to carry for lighting or glow sticks as part of their costume
